Xango’s Glimpse skincare line is not to be judged at first glance. One might assume from their website that it’s another pyramid item sales system with few differentials from other skincare items but we have one word for you: Avon. Glimpse emerges from the folks that created the liquid mangosteen dietery supplement, Xango, which is said to help maintain healthy cardiovascular and joint functioning, balance free radicals and support the immune system. Glimpse offers similar benefits for the skin, by claiming to support the skin’s innate defense system and boost collagen production to improve appearance.

Glimpse, Intuitive Skin Care by Xango, was fashioned off toxin-free ingredients and “green chemistry,” that formed a proprietary BioActive X Complex. Its power lies in the triple does of Xanthone, antioxidant compound-rich plant phenols. The four-step system comes in two formulas: normal to dry and normal to combination skin. All formulas aim to neutralize free radicals, stimulate collagen production and improve skin tone with the mangosteen elements in the BioActive X Complex. But, additional ingredients such as aloe, shea butter, algae, meadowfoam seed oil and viamin E help moisturize and balance environmental elements that stress the skin and wear down on texture.

From the cleanser to the spray toner, gel-like serum and thin but nourishing moisturizer, we never felt irritated and even when used near the eyes, the products did not cause irritation. However, our favorite part of the line is not just the mangosteen roots but what is NOT in the line. There are NO parabens, phthalates, artificial fragrances or colors, petroleum-based ingredients, alcohol forms, or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS). If you’re in the market for a skincare regimen that does the work for you and you favor plant-based ingredients, consider this dermatologist-tested hypoallergenic line.

Bonus:
An in-vitro study of the proprietary complex by Dr. Yoshihiro Futamura at the Japan Food Research Laboratories showed that the formulas used in Glimpse have antioxidant levels up to 30 times that of green tea and impact human dermal fibroblast, thereby impacting collagen production. Research also showed it had an impact on the processes that impact inflammation.
