Timberland To Sponsor Green Apple Festival
Retailer Timberland will be a presenting sponsor of Green Apple Festival and Earth Day Network events taking place nationwide during Earth Day Weekend, April 17 – 19.  Volunteer activities will take place simultaneously in ten major cities across the United States, culminating in free nighttime “Thank You Concerts” for volunteers. In the Washington, D.C. area, there will be free Timberland branded pedicabs and bicycle valets. Steven Tyler Auctions Items At Rock N Roll Fantasy Camp
Steven Tyler
, frontman for Aerosmith, announced he will headline this year’s Rock N Roll Fantasy Camp, which allows fans to perform along with seasoned musicians, taking place this year from April 29 to May 3.  At the closing event at Whiskey A Go Go in Los Angeles, Tyler will auction off items to benefit MusiCares. The charity provides assistance for those in the music community, focusing resources on human service issues and providing for those experiencing a range of personal, medical, and financial emergencies. This year’s camp also includes Duff McKagan of Guns n Roses, Bruce Kulick of Kiss, and Elliot Easton of The Cars, among other musicians.

Flight of the Conchords Play In Charity Tennis Match
Comedy duo Flight of the Conchords will play in a charity tennis match in their native New Zealand to raise money for the Wellington City Mission and Wellington Tennis. Organized by the Rotary Club of Wellington, the match will feature celebrities and high profile community members playing with oversized racquets. The duo is comprised of Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie. The match will take place on March 20, and organizers hope to raise NZ $13,000 to feed the capital city’s hungry.

“It’s My Birthday” Program at Michael’s

, the largest arts and crafts retailer in the world, announced their new children’s party program, “It’s My Birthday,” available in all 1000+ store locations or at home. Designed for children aged 5 to 12, with costs averaging $12 per guest, the party packages include invitations, party ideas, shopping assistance, and a keepsake craft apron for the birthday child. Popular projects, which guests take home as party favors, include bulletin boards, storage boxes, tee-shirts and tote bags.  The program aims to encourage creativity in children while helping parents budget their time and money.
