New Court To Help Fight Violence, Injustice, In Darfur

A new court is being established by African leaders to bring justice back to Darfur. The African Union will appoint Sudanese and foreign judges to the court, which will not replace the International Criminal Court, reports BBC News.
The violence started in Darfur in 2003 when African rebel groups took up arms against the government in Khartoum, complaining of discrimination and neglect. The UN says some 300,000 people have been killed in Darfur’s six-year conflict.
