Send to KindleOne of the most popular boutique workouts today is Physique 57, a NYC- and Los Angeles-based program that focuses on cardio and orthopedic stretches. Bottom line, this appears to be a core-focused workout, which has the likes of SJP, Zooey Deschanel, and Kelly Ripa hooked. While exercise was once all about burning calories, in these times, when most households have two working parents and the recession seems to last longer than most relationships or jobs, exercise is about stress relief too. Lucky for us Biore is teaming up with Physique 57 to give people in select cities a chance to try it for free.
The program claims to “overload” the muscles in a certain way that results in fatigue, which somehow helps develop long lean muscles. The description makes it sound as if it’d be safe to lump it with pilates, yoga and the other “core” workouts that encourage building muscles without bulking up, while relaxing the mind too.
The free tour starts today, September 20, in NYC, and culminates a month from now in San Diego. Along the way, they are holding free classes in Miami, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Austin and Chicago. Of course, all participants will be given Biore towelettes to remove sweat, grime and makeup, to prevent post-exercise breakouts.
