Shiseido Reveals New Celeb Partner

Japan’s Shiseido Co. celebrates its 140th anniversary this year and alongside other announcements, revealed a new global spokeswoman, actress Jennifer Connelly. The prestige beauty brand, which was founded in 1872 as the first Western-style pharmacy in Japan, transformed over the years into a cosmetics house. The company has worked with Connelly before, when she was featured in ad campaigns in Asia, but this marks her first stint as global spokesperson. She will also be the face of the Future Solution LX.

Future Solution LX came to market in 2009 and features a proprietary ingredient called Skingenecell 1P, which aims to improve skin condition and fight environmental effects.

“Jennifer’s genuine personality, commitment to her family and approach to living a beautiful life embodies the core values of our company, and match those of the Shiseido customer. We believe that she portrays the essence of the Future Solution LX line perfectly and that her inner and outer beauty will inspire our customers,” noted Hiroshi Maruyama, General Manager of the International Marketing Department at Shiseido Co.
