Weekly Links: Haircare Developments, GMO Updates, & Big Box News
Link love from this week and last – hipsters at hotels outside Manhattan (I know, brace yourself), Nordstrom may finally arrive on NYC soil, hair care innovations, GMO updates and more!
L’Oreal apparently has some new hair cair ingredient dubbed neogenic that could possibly help improve hair density, according to Cosmetics Design.
So the hipsterati no longer need to take the train to lower SoHo or Meatpacking to hang at hotel bars. Apparently there’s some new worthy hotel in Billyburg. NYMag has the details. But I’m imagining this might be a safe outfit - skinny jeans with a slight rip here or there, paper thin worn but new T-shirt, kohl black eyeliner, a small bag and black thong leather flats.
Nordstrom is finally entering the three Bs zone (Henri Bendel, Barney’s and Bloomingdale’s), New York Post reports. Don’t forget Bergdorf Goodman. Looks like the Manhattan location will be around 57th and Broadway but no word on timing. It will be at least a few years though.
DIY herbal hair rinses based on your color. Pop the top.
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders sponsored an amendment as part of the farm bill that would’ve given states the right to force GMO labeling. The bill, co-sponsored by Calif. Senator Barbara Boxer, was shot down, New Hope 360 reports.
Finally, and this is not a paid link but I think Brit Morin is going to be a serial entrepreneur, so here goes. The Cali-based serial entrepreneur created Weduary, an online one-stop-shopping tool engaged folks can use. I’m not the type to talk about weddings but I know a lot of people that are getting married and I think this site would ease planning. Go there, choose a website theme, start a Wedding website, handle your email invites, and more. An app is coming soon but right now the differentiating feature is its integration with Facebook.
