Send to KindleIf San Fran is the Silicon Valley and NYC is the Silicon Alley why can’t Boston-Cambridge be Silicon Harbor? The tech and pharma mecca that is Cambridge’s Kendall Square naturally is home to a growing number of grub joints. Even pharmaceutical executives have to eat, right? And IP lawyers too.
Word on the street is there are soon to be two new restaurants in Kendall Square. I suspect the more casual is Bon Me, which according to Boston Business Journal, will open a spot similar to its existing food trucks that serve Vietnamese sandwiches and the like.
For a casual meeting, “happy hour,” or a date, the folks behind Central Bottle and The Blue Room are working on Belly Wine Bar. According to their website, I know this will be a great spot. I’m going out on a limb here but when was the last time you saw a restaurant use Tumblr for their website and post pictures such as images of their licenses? It kind of begs the question – what is the publicist’s role these days? Must everyone go “viral?” Oh, and by the way, they’ve got something else brewing for Kendall Square called Cafco.
The Hollywood Reporter and pretty much every other pop culture outlet picked up the news that the new face of CoverGirl is Pink. Naturally the pop singer broke the news by Tweeting an Instagram photo.
Finally, according to the NYTimes, there’s yet another drill sergeant in a Barbie body suit claiming to finally give you the body you always wanted but will never get. Why? Because 1) you’re not supposed to be less than a size 8, and 2) you cannot afford a $35 group class let alone a $175 private lesson. But suppose you could, it would probably work because you would be too scared to 1) come to class fat and 2) stop moving in class.
Really, though all the barre, cross fit, and other fitness fads are just the latest to satiate our ADD when it comes to fitness. Because it’s boring to eat a garden salad and run on the treadbill. This is the circle of life reason capitalism surges on.
